Bridging the Mentorship Gap: Lessons for a Global Startup Ecosystem By Prakhar Mittal

New Delhi [India] : In a career spanning over 15 years in digital transformation across global industries, I’ve witnessed the undeniable power of mentorship in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth. This has been particularly evident while observing India’s meteoric rise as the world’s third-largest startup hub, home to over 140,803 startups as of 30 June 2024, growing annually at 16-18%. However, amid this progress, a glaring gap persists—structured mentorship to guide budding entrepreneurs through the complexities of scaling and sustaining businesses.
Contrasting this with the U.S. ecosystem, which thrives on robust frameworks like SCORE—a pioneering organization mentoring small businesses since 1964—the difference is stark. SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), has been pivotal in shaping small businesses through its mentorship programs, workshops, and access to comprehensive resources. Intrigued by their mission, I joined the SCORE-greater Cincinnati chapter, as a certified mentor, aiming to contribute to this vibrant ecosystem, through a rigorous training and interview process.
The SCORE Experience: Rethinking Entrepreneurship
Engaging with SCORE has been an eye-opening journey. One of the most surprising revelations is the demographic shift among entrepreneurs. Approximately 80% of the founders I’ve mentored are over the age of 50, reflecting a growing trend of seasoned professionals leveraging their expertise to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions. This challenges the traditional narrative that startups are a young person’s game and underscores the inclusivity of the modern entrepreneurial landscape.
Why SCORE Works: A Blueprint for Startup Support
SCORE’s approach to empowering entrepreneurs is multidimensional, addressing every stage of business growth:
Personalized Mentorship: Tailored guidance from experienced professionals to address unique business challenges.
Workshops & Webinars: Covering diverse topics such as digital marketing, financial planning, and operational strategies.
Resource Libraries: Offering templates, tools, and step-by-step guides to streamline business operations.
This ecosystem, bolstered by SBA initiatives like loan programs, contracting assistance, and disaster relief, creates a supportive infrastructure for startups to innovate, scale, and sustain operations.
Reflections from IIMA: A Foundation for Strategic Mentorship
My formative years at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) provided a strong foundation for critical thinking and strategic problem-solving. These skills have been instrumental in my mentorship journey, allowing me to navigate entrepreneurs through complex challenges by blending theoretical insights with practical solutions.
India’s Startup Potential: The Path Forward
India’s startup ecosystem is brimming with potential. Government initiatives like Startup India have laid the groundwork, providing funding and policy support to foster entrepreneurship. However, the absence of structured mentorship programs like SCORE remains a significant roadblock. Establishing similar frameworks in India could enable experienced professionals to guide startups, ensuring innovation isn’t stifled by operational hurdles.
A Call to Action: Building a Culture of Mentorship
Mentorship is not only a catalyst for entrepreneurial success but alsol a cornerstone for long-term innovation and economic growth. My journey with SCORE has deepened my appreciation for the transformative power of guidance, not just for entrepreneurs but also for mentors who gain valuable insights from diverse perspectives.
As India continues to solidify its position as a global startup leader, integrating structured mentorship frameworks into the ecosystem will be crucial. By doing so, we can unlock new avenues of innovation, drive economic growth, and create a collaborative environment where startups thrive—not just survive.

Cyberin’s Journey: From Startup to Digital Powerhouse

Cyberin: From Local Startup to Global Web Hosting Powerhouse
New Delhi [India], June 23: Hey, have you ever stumbled upon a company that started out like a neighborhood lemonade stand and now runs the global lemonade empire? Well, that’s Cyberin for you. Founded back in 2012, right around the time I was figuring out how to untangle my headphones. Cyberin kicked off as a bold Delhi-based startup aiming to make web hosting and domain services as easy as pie. Fast forward 13 years, and they’re flexing seven self-managed data centers across India, the US (Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, New Jersey), the UK, and Germany. That’s no small feat, kind of like going from playing cricket in your backyard to hosting the IPL! They’ve empowered over 26,000 community members and startups worldwide. Talk about putting India on the global digital map!
How Cyberin Became a Developer’s Best Friend
What really caught my eye about Cyberin is their developer-first attitude. It’s like they’ve built a clubhouse where developers feel right at home. Imagine high-speed SSD storage paired with LiteSpeed and NGINX tech—basically the Ferrari and Lamborghini of web hosting engines. And they didn’t stop there, their proprietary cPanel tweaks include one-click Softaculous installs and LiteSpeed caching that make managing websites less like rocket science and more like assembling IKEA furniture (well, almost).
Prices? They start at a cool INR 149/month. No sneaky fees hiding in the bushes, plus domain inclusions and a 30-day trial with a money-back guarantee. I mean, finding affordable hosting that doesn’t nickel-and-dime you feels rarer than a traffic-free Delhi morning.
The cherry on top? Their support. Toll-free calls, live chats, ticket systems, and even callbacks that respond in under 60 minutes—even if you’re running a tiny blog about your cat’s latest antics.
Real People, Real Praise
Cyberin doesn’t just talk the talk—they’ve got the reviews to back it up. Independent ratings clock in at a solid 4.3/5 for uptime, speed, and support. Customers rave about reliability and cost-effectiveness—phrases like “most reliable company I’ve come across” pop up more often than Bollywood song remixes on social media.
And if you’ve ever tried migrating a website (hint: it can be a nightmare), you’ll appreciate their hands-on approach. Their team swoops in like digital paramedics, making sure your site moves smoothly without losing a single pixel or visitor.
The People Behind the Magic
Peek behind the curtain, and you’ll find a happy bunch of employees. Cyberin scores 4.4/5 on AmbitionBox, with top marks for culture, job security, and benefits—more smiles per square inch than your average office cubicle. Glassdoor reviews mention a “friendly and inclusive management” and a fast-paced environment that’s perfect for those early in their careers (or anyone who hates boredom).
From Local Hero to Global Player
Cyberin’s journey reminds me of those inspiring stories where someone starts small—serving local businesses and blogs—and then suddenly finds themselves supporting customers across Asia, Europe, and North America. Over 26,000 users later, they’ve transformed from a homegrown host into a global powerhouse.
Key Ingredient | Why It Matters |
---|---|
Customer-first model | 30-day trials, free backups, no hidden fees |
Innovative tech | SSDs, caching, and developer-friendly tools |
Global reach | Seven data centres for speed & resilience |
Support excellence | Lightning-fast help & migration assistance |
Employee happiness | Positive culture fuels better service |
Why You Should Care
Cyberin’s story isn’t just about hosting websites—it’s about sticking to your guns with solid tech, fair pricing, and real people who care. In a world where many companies chase hype like Black Friday sales, Cyberin chooses value over flashiness. Plus, their community-first vibe means users aren’t just customers—they’re part of the family.
Looking Ahead: What’s Next?
With digital demands exploding post-pandemic (seriously, every business wants an app or website yesterday), Cyberin is gearing up to expand data centers, beef up cybersecurity offerings, and roll out even slicker developer tools. Their growth is perfectly aligned with the evolution of the internet itself, offering not just hosting but a comprehensive digital ecosystem ready to fuel innovation.
Final Thoughts
From its scrappy Delhi startup days to becoming a global player, Cyberin proves that with grit, smarts, and a genuine focus on customers and culture, even small companies can punch way above their weight. They’re not just into cPanel web hosting, they’re powering dreams, boosting startups, and securing digital futures worldwide.
If you ever find yourself stressing over where to host your next big project, consider Cyberin the underdog who turned into a champ without losing its heart. And hey, if they can do it while, so can you!

Cinema With Purpose: Ravi Gautam’s Soch Chosen to Close Stuttgart Indian Film Festival with a social punch

New Delhi [India], June 23 : Soch: A Perception, the latest feature film by Indo-German director Ravi Gautam, has been selected as the closing film for the upcoming Indian Film Festival Stuttgart, Europe’s largest festival dedicated to Indian cinema. The festival, known for its socially conscious programming and cultural bridge-building, will take place next month in the German city.
Produced by Jennifer Pengel and Rahul Sharma, Soch is a thought-provoking exploration of gender bias and societal double standards in modern India. The film follows Officer Priyanka Negi, portrayed by acclaimed actress Anjali Patil, as she investigates a village disappearance while grappling with deeply entrenched patriarchal norms. Patil’s performance was recently nominated for Best Actress at the India International Film Festival of Boston.
Soch has already been screened at major international festivals including IIFFB, the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, the Jagran Film Festival, and the 22nd Chennai International Film Festival. Its selection in Stuttgart reflects its growing global resonance.
“Cinema can’t always offer answers—but it can start conversations,” says Gautam. “With Soch, I wanted to highlight the silent codes we grow up with, especially those that define women’s freedom and men’s judgment.”
The Stuttgart Indian Film Festival has built a reputation over two decades for championing bold, socially relevant films. Many acclaimed Indian filmmakers and actors have found early international recognition on its platform. The festival also serves as a key venue for cross-cultural exchange between India and Germany, particularly through its ties with Mumbai, Stuttgart’s sister city.
Soch is produced by Webfilmland Production, a film company based in Garbsen near Hanover, which also supports creative development, workshops, and socially conscious storytelling. The company has recently completed another project by Gautam, A Million Yard Stare, a poetic, emotionally charged film about Ukrainian refugee children coping with the trauma of war.
“A child’s trauma isn’t always loud—it lives in the eyes,” says Gautam. “A Million Yard Stare is my attempt to honor that silence.”
